61.5°N is the title of Dylan Katz's first Venice solo show, inaugurating at Olivolo, for the eighth edition of The Venice Glass Week, Curated by Costanza Longanesi Cattani, the exhibition features Katz's Uncanny Ice signature sculptures, representing Finland's ice mass through glass, and unveils the new series Northern Windows which pays tribute to the colors and lights of the northern sky, Created ad hoc for this show. Dylan Katz has learned the intricate language of glass to tell a story. Color, pattern, form, texture, transparency, opacity, light, and optics are the vocabulary he uses to weave his message. According to the artist, this exhibition is not a call to arms in the fight against climate change; instead, it is a love letter, primarily written in glass, to our dear Mother Earth.
