Posthumanism & the Deep Time of Glassblowing is a conference discussion of glass artists, academics, and practitioners that brings together concerns regarding the human experience of self-determination and creativity with those of the living (and dying) ecological world. This conference explores questions such as: “What supply chain emerges by mapping the mines and minerals of studio glass?”; “How do minerals impact the making and meaning of studio glass?”; “What can a posthumanist account reveal about the environmental legacy and future of the field?”; “How have classic Western theories of being and knowing informed canonical accounts of studio glass and craft more broadly?”; “How does a posthumanist perspective shift these accounts and studio practices?"
