Venetian glass of the Renaissance encountered the taste of Spanish, Portuguese and Sicilian elites. Different types were exported to these countries throughout the Renaissance and Baroque period. Sicily was an interesting crossroads for the arrival, in early times, of Islamic glass and later of both Venetian and Catalan glassware.
