What are the memories we leave in the world? If the only evidence of our existence is our interaction with material, then a material must also leave its unique imprints upon us, forming our material memory. When liable for advancing the field of glassmaking, we are unavoidably confronted with these memories. Hot glass, in particular, unavoidably records its memory of us. Every movement, touch, mistake, and perfection will forever remain imprinted on the memory of the glass long after even our memory is gone.
Visitors are invited into the furnace during the first days of the week to make molds that will be directly used for creating a glass piece. Participants are invited to attend and be part of the demonstration on Thursday, 19 September.
