2022 has been officially designated by the UN as the International Year of Glass. In this important year for the glass sector, The Venice Glass Week is uniting with Vision Milan Glass Week to present a new international festival: The Italian Glass Weeks.
The first week of the festival will take place in Milan from 10th to 18th September 2022 and will be dedicated primarily to industrial glass. The second week will take place in Venice from 17th to 25th September 2022, and will be dedicated to artistic glass.
An exciting programme of events will be staged in both cities, including exhibitions and installations, guided tours, demonstrations and workshops, as well as a series of B2B events for companies operating in the glass industry.
Collectively, The Italian Glass Weeks will offer a unique opportunity for audiences including consumers, collectors, buyers and businesses to encounter, explore and appreciate the best of glass in Italy. The initiative aims to celebrate and promote the excellence of the Italian glass industry, whilst also showcasing the highest quality glass from elsewhere in the world.
Vision Milan Glass Week, established in 2021 and now in its second edition, is a project of VITRUM, the international trade fair for the glass processing industry which takes place every two years in Milan. The sole shareholder of VITRUM is GIMAV, the Trade Association that is part of CONFINDUSTRIA, which represents manufacturers and suppliers of machines, accessories, equipment and products for glass processing. In 2021 the event was supported by the Regione Lombardia and Città Metropolitana di Milano, and was financed by the Ministero degli Esteri and Cooperazione Internazionale through ICE Agenzia.
