Murano Illumina il Mondo: on 27th February a Round Table symposium dedicated to Venetian chandeliers

To mark the conclusion of Murano Illumina il Mondo, a Round Table symposium titled Murano Illumina il Mondo. Il lampadario veneziano ieri, oggi e domani (Murano Lights Up The World. The Venetian Chandelier, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow) will take place on Tuesday 27th February at 4.30pm at Scuola del Vetro Abate Zanetti on Murano, featuring contributions from some of the key figures involved in the project. Murano Illumina il Mondo is a project promoted by The Venice Glass Week and Comune di Venezia which, for the first time ever, brought an exhibition of twelve artist-designed chandeliers to St Mark’s Square, thanks to the collaboration between a series of internationally renowned artists and nine of Murano’s most prestigious glass furnaces.

The event, which will be conducted in Italian, is open to the public free of charge. Seats will be available on a first come, first served basis.

(Update 26/02/2024) The dismantling of the chandeliers began today.
