In this workshop, participants will discuss views on clouds through the eyes of artists scientists, philosophers, poets, and contextual cultural perspectives on Clouds. The opening discussions will lead into designing and painting one’s own cloud impression on a piece of silk, with Murano glass seed beads and thread available for further adornment to the individual silk clouds.
Amy West will open the workshop by sharing how she interprets clouds on silk and paper, integrating glass seed beads as desired. Examples of her own personal studies on paper, silk and glass will be available for viewing and supervised handling. Demonstrations on silk will take place during the opening discussion, following which participants will be given individual materials sets to start their own work.
