Cannaregio is the Sestiere of Venice where even the names of the places recall the artisan figures, historical anecdotes, materials and tools that are inextricably linked to the practice of the Art of Glass Beads, a craft still alive and much loved, for the its multiple aspects that link it to the local social fabric, both by Venetians and visitors. Gardens that return beads, "nizioletti" with names that sanction the activities practiced on site, industrious laboratories, ancient stories that become modern and are projected into the future, in the evolution of a tradition that has been handed down for centuries. An Art recognized as a World Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2020 thanks to the joint Italy-France candidacy conducted by the CPVV Venice Committee and APAF France.
