In the Androne of Palazzo Pisani Moretta, Alexander Kirkeby's contemporary glass works enter into dialogue with the Palazzo's extraordinary collection of 300 historic glasses and carafes made in 1730 by the renowned Murano master glassmaker Giuseppe Briati. Kirkeby's practice is deeply rooted in the glassblowing traditions of the Italian Renaissance, yet he intentionally challenges these conventions by creating pieces that balance strict craftsmanship with chaotic, fluid forms.
