Founded in Hiroshima in 1951, Toho Beads is one of Japan's most renowned manufacturers of glass beads. Its high-quality seed beads are prized for their uniform shape, extensive range of colors, and exceptional durability. They are widely used in bead embroidery and jewelry making. In 2013, the company launched the TohoChallenge, an annual event in which designers and artists from around the world are invited to create original works using a specially selected color palette and a set of beads provided by Toho. This year's theme is "You Are Mermazing." The works presented here draw inspiration from the rich artistic heritage of Japan, its legends and folklore, and the enchanting world of mermaids.
