Tanja Pak. On Fragility

Event organised by Tanja Pak

Tanja Pak’s work inhabits the threshold between presence and disappearance, fragility and resilience. In On Fragility, she gives form to a state that both is and is not, creating forms that seem at once present and already receding. By pushing glass to the brink of collapse, Pak transforms the material’s inherent fragility into a meditation on human, social, and environmental vulnerability. What remains is less an object than a trace of thought and emotion.

Tanja Pak (Slovenia, 1971) is a visual artist and designer working across sculpture, spatial installation, and glass. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, she is Professor and Head of Glass at the University of Ljubljana. Her internationally exhibited work explores absence, impermanence, and the vulnerability of being, reflecting on the fragile relationship between human existence and the vanishing landscapes of the Far North.
