Every presence, every sight, and every touch leaves a mark in time, in the perception of ourselves and others, and in our memories. Each touch records differently but reverberates in countless ways in the time that follows, changing our perspectives slightly. The work is a memory of the touch of the fallen tree in Seattle, travelling across the hemisphere and finding its imprint in the light of the glass, carrying all the paths of mind with it.

Tanja Pak (b. Slovenia, 1971) achieved an MA at the Royal College of Art, London, and a BA in industrial design at the Academy of Fine Art in Ljubljana. She now serves as a full professor and heads the Glass and Ceramics department at her alma mater. She is creatively committed to sculpture, artistic spatial installations and the design of functional glass objects. Tanja Pak is the recipient of the Grand Prize of the Toyama International Glass Exhibition 2024, two Red Dot HM awards, and the Arte Laguna special prize, among other awards.
