The "Stones" exhibition brings together a selection of press papier glass pieces created by the Carlo Moretti company over the course of its history, managed by its founders, the two brothers Carlo and Giovanni, until 2013. Made of paste or crystal, cut or embellished with murrine, cane, bubbles, or other decorations, the press papier pieces have experimented with a variety of shapes and sizes, becoming
an accessible collector's item. Perhaps an obsolete object today, they have succeeded in expressing a wide variety of designs, playing with transparencies and decorative or artistic elements, always of considerable weight. They illustrate the changing tastes and uses of a household object, often stripped of its original function and destined to be a mere furnishing accessory.
