Simone Cristani & Ioannis Michalou(di)S. S.O.S-Save Our Sky

Event organised by Simone Cristani & Ioannis Michalou(di)S

This Art&Science installation will show for the first time the synergy between Simone Crestani and Dr. Ioannis Michalou(di)s, a Greek artist working on the ethereal silica aerogel -a nanomaterial made of 99% air and 1% glass, used by a NASA to collect stardust. The artists are merging their techniques to create an intriguing collection of three artworks/allegories on the last layer of planet Earth, our blue and golden breath, our sky in danger.

Simone CRESTANI (b. Italy, 1984) began working with glass at the age of 15. After a long apprenticeship, he opened his own studio in 2010 where he is working with borosilicate glass combining technique and poetry.
Dr. Ioannis MICHALOU(di)S (b. Grece, 1965) completed his PhD in Visual Arts in Sorbonne University in Paris. In 2001 he met the nanomaterial silica aerogel at MIT and had introduced it to Visual Arts and Design.

Work on display:
