These glass vessels, crafted with volcanic sand and ash using traditional techniques, resemble geological relics. They reflect the artist's research into Ottoman glass techniques and the materiality of Icelandic volcanic ash and sand. Their forms invite reflection on memory, materials, and environmental changes.
Rezzan Hasoglu, an industrial and visual designer, founded Studio Sahil in 2018 after her MA at Royal College of Art. She explores sensorial experiences, cultural heritage, and craft, translating nuances into objects, often with glass and sand. Her work, including 'Arenophile' (Lexus Design Award finalist), has been exhibited internationally and featured in the Homo Faber Guide and LDF.
