Event organised by Marco Toso Borella
Illustrated Encyclopedic Dictionary
MURANO A-Z is a thirty-year project that sees the completion of its first chapter in a prestigious location, the Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista, and in a distinguished setting, the Italian Glass Weeks.
MURANO A-Z is an illustrated encyclopedic dictionary where all the elements that historically characterise the island are collected in strict alphabetical order to place them on the correct site: History, Families, Sacred and profane buildings, Furnaces, Traditions... a vast work of care, attention and love, in search of the roots present in this land for centuries, where glass is just one of the many fruits born.
MURANO A-Z has as its tireless author Marco Toso Borella: his are the illustrations that accompany the work, historical research, aimed at recounting often unpublished facts, the texts. A work that contains the uniqueness of the subject, Murano, and the uniqueness of its author: Marco Toso Borella, whose family has been on Murano for generations.
