Event organized by Foundation Querini Stampalia Venice and with Elisabetta Dal Carlo e Barbara Bettoni.

On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September, at 4 pm, Perle di vetro e gioie non preziose (Glass Pearls and Imitation Jewellery) is scheduled, a fascinating journey into the heart of Venetian costume jewellery, which originated well before the term itself was coined. The themed tour, curated by Barbara Bettoni and Elisabetta Dal Carlo, explores the central role of glass – a material that is only apparently humble – in the creation of refined ornaments, considered to be truly valuable objects in their own right.

Through the historic rooms of the Museum, the event offers a journey through manuscripts, original objects and iconographic sources, retracing the birth and evolution of a wholly Venetian craft tradition.
