Huang Xiaozhe presents her series "Particles of Freedom" in her atelier, alongside a daily live demonstration of her innovative process: hot-fusing glass and silver through lamp-working. The series intends to investigate the conflict and complex relationship between individuals and society. The metal components represent the ruthless ruling; while glass serves as a metaphor for the newborn authentic self, particles of freedom, and the celebration of an independent identity free from profession, nation, language, and ideological exclusiveness.
Huang Xiaozhe is originally from Beijing, China, and currently works and lives in Venice, Italy. Her work has been exhibited at leading events such as Collect London, UrbanGlass, International Glass Biennale, Munich Jewellery Week, and GRASSIMESSE.
