For the first time, The Merchant of Venice is offering three luxurious fragrances entirely formulated in oil, called NECTARS, which, inspired by the ancient recipe of Pliny the Elder's Regale Unguentum, combine sought-after and mysterious raw materials and are presented in a unique, precious and extremely sophisticated way.
An elixir of such prestige could only be dressed in an iconic bottle that pays homage to the art of glassmaking, inextricably linked to the lagoon city. Since antiquity, glass has been a treasure chest of aromas, ointments and perfumes, used for its stability and ability to guarantee the quality of its contents for a long time. Venice has cultivated the art of blown glass, becoming its undisputed capital over the centuries, and it is from the skilful hands of the master glassblowers that the art glass created for The Merchant of Venice by renowned glass artist Michela Cattai took shape to enclose the Nectars.
The design represents the iconographic expression of contemporary Made in Italy design, a concentrate of culture, heritage and savoir-faire.
The limited edition collection with fifty numbered pieces for each of the three colour shades (amber, red and green) is made of blown Venetian Bulicante glass and is handcrafted by expert Murano glass masters.
The bottle has a round shape representing a glass casket inspired by the ancient architecture of Venice and is crowned by a crystal-coloured pinnacle cap embellished with gold leaf.
The three highly concentrated fragrances in oil linger on the skin like an infinite caress of a perfumed symphony, captivating and at the same time imperious, that tells of a fairy-tale world of opulence and grandeur that cannot be resisted:
