Narrae Kang. The Process of Cognition

Event organised by Narrae Kang

In Opera Gloves, a silent link is traced between the elegance of evening gloves and the humility of rubber gloves used in everyday work. Both shape the gestures of the hands – one symbolises beauty, the other invisible care. Through layered glass and hand-painted dots, she reflects on the silent devotion of domestic work, honouring a beauty that is lived and given every day.

Narrae Kang (South Korea, 1986) is a Seoul-based artist and glassmaker whose practice traces the emotional and aesthetic dimensions of domestic labor. With a background in interior and lighting design, she earned her MDes in Glass Craft & Design at
Kookmin University. Her work reveals the rhythms and gestures of care embedded in housework. In 2024, she won First Place at
Connections 2024 (GAS Berlin). In 2025, she received a Jutta Cuny-Franz Honorary Diploma.
