Murrine in dialogue. A collection of Roman-era samples

Event organised by Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia

In collaboration with Comitato Vetri di Laguna

On the IX edition of The Venice Glass Week, The Glass Museum in Murano, in collaboration with the Laguna Glass Committee, will exhibit a series of panels that contain a rich sampling of fragments of Roman-era murrine glass, with polychrome ribbons, canes and millefiori, donated to the Museum in the final decades of the 19th century. The panels, kept in the Museum's storage rooms, were exhibited only once, in 2012, at the National Archaeological Museum of Altino, on the occasion of the exhibition "Murrino glass from Altino to Murano".
The exhibition aims to create a dialogue with the contemporary murrine exhibited in Murano in the Spazio Sorelle Sent, dedicated to the production of Malvino Pavanello.
