The sculpture evokes deep introspection and inner silence as the essence of form. Treated as a living organism, the glass reveals tension, fragility, and the passage of time. The wrinkled surface alludes to memory and decay. In the centre, the shape of the back symbolises self-awareness between body and spirit, vulnerability and resilience.
Monika Rościszewska (Polonia, 1981) is a sculptor and designer affiliated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. She explores
perception and self-discovery, treating glass as a living organism and expressive medium. Her works have been shown in Poland
and abroad. She earned her PhD at the Academy, with her dissertation defense held at MOCAK in Kraków.
