"Laura de Santillana: Beyond Matter" celebrates one of the most important figures in the international glass scene by placing in dialogue two of her vital bodies of work: sculptures crafted in nearby Murano and artworks made in the artist's later years in the Czech Republic. The daring sculptures presented in the exhibition capture De Santillana's unparalleled artistic vision, as she consistently ventured beyond traditional material boundaries.

There are two pivotal moments in De Santillana's artistic career: in 1999, she insisted that the master glassblower flatten a blown cylinder, birthing the first "tablet." In 2013, in a Czech Republic furnace, the artist fused together large glass cylinders. This innovative "slumping" method profoundly transformed her creative trajectory.
