Katarína Pozorová. Relationships of Matter

On simply shaped, almost architectural objects Artist shows power and boldness of these materials. She form the object from the material only by setting a simple geometric shape, reducing the creation to its essence. Thanks to unique light feature, glass itself is fascinating material. Concrete without depth, it is the opposite of glass. Both materials are essentially a reduction of the beauty of matter, but each in its own way.

Katarína Pozorová (b. Slovak Republic, 1986) is a glass Artist and Designer. She has been engaged in glasswork since 2017 and completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in 2022. During her studies, she undertook internships in glass studios in the Czech Republic and learned the craft from renowned glass artists. Currently, she is involved in freelance design and artistic activities. She is part of the Homo Faber Guide project of the Michelangelo Foundation.

Works on display:
Body and soul (concrete part is made of concrete cast in a mold and the glass part is kiln cast glass casting in a mold and then hand-grounded to a semi-matte finish and then again bent in the kiln) 20 x 50 x 10 cm
Infringement (kiln casting glass, hand-grounded to a semi-matte finish) 55 x 10 x 10 cm
