Inflicted explores the artists’ fascination for man-made boundaries, not only in the sense of visual artifacts of international sovereignty games but also the restrictions they impose and what it says about us as humans. Her background knowledge in the field of conflict studies and her present work with glass are two realities that will always be united in her artistic narrative and define her method of work.

Viviane Stroede (b. Germany, 1990) is a Glass sculptor, whose artistic narrative is influenced by her previous experiences in the field of conflict studies and journalism. She is co-owner and Studio Manager at Berlin Glassworks. She has received scholarships for Pilchuck, Bild-Werk, Corning, and demonstrated this year at the Glass Art Society conference. Her work has been exhibited in Germany, USA and Turkey.
