Exhibition Reception: Clouds of Glass
Event organised by Chiarastella Cattana e Marcello Moretti
A functional lamp, with modernist aesthetics, which spread from the 1950s onwards, adaptable to any space, characterised by countless geometric shapes, meeting the search for an ethical and social design by responding to the new living realities of the time.
Most of the Italian lighting industries were involved in the design and production of this type of lamp; to the acid-etched white glass of the early 1950s, colour , stripes and spots were added.
The Murano glass industry made its countless processing techniques available to create new and unique aesthetics: murrine, canne, ballotton, zanfirico, bubble, pulegoso.
