Event organised by Jackson Hawkins

In collaboration with ARS Murano

What are the memories we leave in the world? If the only evidence of our existence is our interaction with material, then a material must also leave its unique imprints upon us, forming our material memory. When liable for advancing the field of glassmaking, we are unavoidably confronted with these memories. Hot glass, in particular, unavoidably records its memory of us. Every movement, touch, mistake, and perfection will forever remain imprinted on the memory of the glass long after even our memory is gone.
Festival participants are invited to participate in workshop sessions where moulds will be produced from their fingers. Those that participate in either of the two workshops are invited to apply their mould directly to the glass piece during the demonstration on the following day.
