From Point A to Point B

Event organised by Iuliia Rokina & Vera Golubeva

The life of each person is a chronicle or a book. The first sheet is the birth certificate, and the last one is a death certificate and between them there are many pages. How many of these sheets don't carry important information? How many of them, is just the noise we surround with? The installation consists of documents collected by a random person, which are some life's key points, the sequence can be changed, thereby "playing" with the human fate.

Iuliia Rokina and Vera Golubeva (n. Unione Sovietica, 1989) work as a team. They work mainly with glass. Preferred process is bending glass material into multiple layers to achieve a depth of colour and balance between shape and content. Girls explore the human relationship with nature, the megalopolis, society and the environment. In their practice classical glass-working techniques are combined with modern sculpture and graphic art.
