To count as to tell a story. To count as to string, one by one, the glass beads that for centuries have shimmered in the hands of Murano’s artisans. "Counting Stories" is a poetic journey through three ancient Venetian arts and crafts: seed beads, handmade cotton paper, and artisanal textile.
Inside a prestigious Murano furnace, where glass canes have been crafted since the 18th century, seed beads, canes and glass pearls from the archives of Franco Schiavon Gallery come back to life. They are reborn in the unique vezzi - necklaces - by Narratrame and in the handmade garments by Gabriella Marin, giving rise to a dialogue between past and present, material and memory—a unique act.
