The exhibition presents a selection of chalcedony glass vases and objects produced in the second half of the 19th century. The chalcedony technique was rediscovered around 1850 by Lorenzo Radi Senior, who found old recipes dating back to the 16th century. The production of these glass pastes aimed to imitate chalcedony agates. These Murano glass pastes were showcased at several international exhibitions in the second half of the 19th century, including in London in 1862 and Paris in 1878.
