Bringing together the multifaceted craftsmanship typical of Venice. This is the original idea behind L'OMBRA DEA FORCOLA, a project that opens this original collaboration between Murano glass and master Matteo Tagliapietra and master remèr Piero Dri. This is the first project, as other collaborations are being studied, among the excellences of the Venetian tradition whose history goes back centuries. We had wanted to trigger this artistic collaboration for some time and the result of the project is all in these unique works.
Discussing with Piero, in front of one of his marvellous and unique forcole (the forcola is, together with the oar, the control bridge of the gondola and all rowing boats, the symbol of Venetian mobility, our machines therefore), his unmistakable silhouette appeared on the wall as if by magic, and the idea of how to unite their 'hands and artistic potential' in a single work immediately sprang up. From Piero's forcole were born Matteo's beautiful Murano glass forcole, unique pieces or at least a very limited series of works reproducing the most beautiful and colourful textures of Murano glass: colourful canes, murrine, filigree and reticello our best tradition to recreate the shadow of the forcola forged with precious woods by Piero Dri.
Venice is historically rich in these incomparable craftsmen who carry on centuries-old traditions but with an eye to innovation and design. Revisiting and revisiting is now indispensable to give these great activities a future as certain and glorious as the past.
