The object was created on the basis of a long-term study of the ‘Baroque Gothic’ buildings by architect J. B. Santini Aichel, a Czech architect with Italian roots. It follows the central plan of the Chapel of St. Anne in Panenské Břežany, where it serves as a holy water font. The object serves not only for the administration of holy water, but also becomes an intermediary in the communication between man and architecture.
Anna Martinková (Czech Reublic, 2001) is a graduate of the AAAD in Prague, Studio of Glass. In Anna’s previous work we can observe the thematic lines that she follows and projects into her work, her fascination with architecture, geometry and the spiritual world. Most of her work focuses on fused sculpture and glass cutting. For Anna it is essential that the objects are created with her own hands. That is why in her work we can find mainly a series of several unique pieces.
