Soul in between the spaces is a blown glass sculpture that was created and modified through the artist’s travels in three different countries. It is a gender-fluid head, shape-shifting into a bird and communicating the struggle of a trapped soul in between inner and outer space, between real and fantasy worlds. The sculpture directly speaks to the viewer in a subtle way through delicate shapes, textures and reflections.

Benjamin Podoba (b. Slovakia, 1995) was raised in Bratislava and now lives in Vienna. The artist aims to find new methods and contexts in the making of glass as a contemporary sculptural material through technological and manual research. Respecting the social and ecological environment, he communicates personal and emotional subjects through the fragility of the material.
