A Destiny in Glass. 13 Artists at Vetreria Anfora - Exhibition Reception
Event organised by Veniceartfactory
This exhibition is an attempt to make explicit a series of reflections focused on the potential of glass as an artistic medium, starting from the role played in Murano and in the Venetian scenario by the Fornace Anfora. Founded in 1976 for the production of glasses, starting from the beginning of the nineties, thanks to the meeting between master glassmakers and artists, this furnace begins a completely new path, which redraws its destiny: from a place dedicated to serial production to a context ideal for artistic creation and the creation of unique pieces. After the first arrivals, Massimo Nordio, Yoichi Ohira, Maria Grazia Rosin, the furnace has welcomed over seventy artists. Many of these have approached glass only once, others have instead undertaken a continuous path, in some cases exclusive with this material. The exhibition presents the work of thirteen of these regular visitors to the Fornace Anfora: Emmanuel Babled, Cristiano Bianchin, Michele Burato, Michela Cattai, Massimo Nordio, Massimo Micheluzzi, Andrea Morucchio, Yoichi Ohira, Isabelle Poilprez, Tristano de Robilant, Maria Grazia Rosin, Silvano Rubino, Andrea Zilio.
